Endo, Toki “Sherlock Holmes and Dogs ?
A study about the dogs that appear in the Canon. Blood Hound and Mastiff are discussed. The author explains the origin and nature of these kinds and points out the hound in HOUN is a cross-bled dog of Blood Hound and Mastiff.

The author tries to locate the actual location of the Priory school, considering the train and its route, description of scenery and so on. He concludes the school was located along the Buxston railway line in Peak area in mid England. He also speculates the true story of the case that Hayes was not hanged by the power of the Duke.

Ishikawa, Noriyuki “A Study of the Musgrave Ritual” 石河紀之「考証 The Ritual-Musgraves’」 WH No.9 (1986),57-61p
The author suggests the deciphering was not too difficult once one notices the ritual points out a certain spot, and examines the mathematical method Holmes took when identifying the position based on the description in Musgrave Ritual.
