バリツ支部の初会合の出席者、中心メンバーが外国特派員である事実を検証。初回会合の内容がホームズに関する事柄ではなく、当時の裁判記録などの報告が行われたことから、設立の目的が占領下の日本に於ける情報収集が目的の、全く違う団体だった事を検証している。

 The author summarizes Conan Dolye’s activities in 1909, and introduces the Time’s article that describes Doyle and his wife attended Japan Society’s garden party where Prince and Princess Nashimoto turned out.
